Now I recently talked about rediscovering Boohoo Plus with this fab maxi dress, so when I found this even gorgeouser (yep that’s a word!!) maxi dress I knew it had to be mine. Except I saw it when Becky Bedbug tweeted about the price difference of the plus size version- a whole £10 more vs.the core range dress!!! Now this was on ASOS’s site and after quite a bit of arguing ASOS said that it was a different dress (the neckline was slightly different and length of the slip was longer ) and they have no control over prices on other brands garments. Boohoo said prices can vary on items depending on supplier. Well if the same supplier didn’t make both dresses from boohoo I’d suggest they’d wasted a great time and effort quality testing, developing and signing off samples of what is THE SAME DARN DRESS bar the length of the under slip.

So after all the hassle and Cosmopolitan picking up the story on their site both dresses were suddenly £25! Hurrah it would be mine, and it was! I blooming love it too. I don’t love the slip with it (the straps are so stretchy I have to have them doubled up- my strap savers have come in handy for them!) but it has a nice neckline that you can see in the pics. I added my ASOS maxi skirt with splices, which I think makes the dress look more casual vs the shorter slip which makes it look a bit more dressy I think.

Anyways here I was prancing  around in the dream dress, (thanks to Bee for the shots!)  then when I get home I decide to catch up on some of my fave blogs, and I see Lucinda looking fierce in an amazing Boohoo bomber from ASOS.. It was the standard range and I was debating if I would fit in a 16, when I suddenly thought I’d check if it was available in the Plus range. DO YOU KNOW WHATS COMING NEXT?!!

Yep… It’s £5 more!!! For goodness sake ASOS! I’ve tweeted them and they are looking into it- currently well over 48 hours ago though, and it’s just not good enough. I do understand that there will be different buyers/merchandisers/site merchandisers and so on, for core brands and plus size brands, and everything in between, I get that, but to not have put in place measures that mean their prices are consistent across the board is just plain negligence.

Now for anyone that says, well there’s more material in the plus size versions maybe that’s why? Well, you don’t pay more for a longer length jean do you? You don’t pay by size across the core ranges do you? Nope. Oh and calling them a different name on site does not make them different either- take note retailers!

So basically the bomber will not be mine. Well it could be as Boohoo have them both on for £20 each, but it’s not ASOS next day delivery is it (which I pay for yearly!). But when also looking on Boohoo I noticed the Petite version is £2 less..and then a whoooollle nother argument begins…… And I lose interest. Basically if your like me (tall and plus size) expect to pay the most for your clothes because, you know, extra material and all…….

Whilst I’m at it here’s a few more examples ..

If I’d bought just these four items when I first saw them I would have paid £25 MORE than my smaller counterparts. That would have bought me this dress again! Please tweet the hell out of this as its time they all started taking their pricing seriously, also let me know if you find any other price discrepancies below.
