It’s hard to believe it’s two months since I went to Barcelona on a little city break, the time has just flown by. Because I’m indecisive we ended up staying at two hotels during our stay which I actually loved doing as it mixed the holiday up a little. When looking for hotels to stay in though I had one requirement, it had to have a rooftop pool. So as well as sharing some beaut photos we took by the pools I thought I’d put to use the reasons I gave Mr E for us NEEDING a rooftop pool at each hotel we stayed at!

1.To Tan
Even though it was only the beginning of May when we went to Barcelona temps still hit the mid twenties which meant walking about in the heat of the day was a little too much for me so some where to take off a layer or two was much needed. A rooftop pool means you still benefit from all the heat of the city but usually also gain a little breeze from being high up meaning perfect tanning time.

2. For Naps (or Siesta if you will)

On our first day after we’d travelled from early in the morning we were shattered and wanted to recharge  our batteries before the Tapas Tour that evening. What better way then on a comfy sun lounger next to a rooftop pool with a sea view?! I also may have (definitely did) have a nap on the last day too!

3.For Fitness

Okay so this wasn’t an option for us when we got there as it was early in the season the pools weren’t heated which meant the deep one at the SB Diagonal Zero Hotel was so cold it was not even suitable for a few laps. Just look at my face getting into it! However it’s a great way to keep the excercise up on a city break that isn’t so stressful on the joints as walking for hours on end is.

4.The Views

Luckily for us the infinity rooftop pool at B Hotel Barcelona, was much shallower then the one at the SB hotel and in the sun so was much warmer. It meant we got to enjoy the view of the hustle and bustle below whilst in the pool. Bliss.

5. To Wear a New Bikini

Okay so maybe not quite a valid reason for some (or Mr E) but getting to wear my new bikinis was one in my eyes! The navy mixed print bikini is from George and is a multiway halter and is super comfy, with deep sides on the briefs.

The khaki one is a trusty River Island one. The top is last years (ASOS Sale bargain)  and has removeable spaghetti straps, the briefs are this seasons I was so chuffed when I found them to match the top perfectly. I love the khaki colour and think it will only look better as I get more of a tan!

Hopefully if you’ve been looking at a city break this might have persuaded you to choose a hotel with a rooftop pool, I really enjoyed having one to relax by as you can probably see!
