I’m not one for over hyping Halloween, it’s not my fave holiday , I’m not really into horror movies or anything halloweeny really but I do like to dress up! And I love seeing others fab efforts!

And when I say efforts I mean EFFORTS! Not wearing normal clothes but bathing in fake blood before they go out, not half arsed make up and not a full shop bought outfit as for me most of that anyone can do! I always like to make my own interpretation of dress up you may remember from Christmas dress up’s like these here.

I didn’t want to spend a lot and was desperate to wear my green ASOS tutu again. I decided poison ivy was the way forward(it was between that and a ninja turtle lol!). I went to work in under a week (nothing like last minute!). I ordered ivy from eBay, one lot of large leaf ivy and one lot of crappier ivy but lots of it(won for £2.40 free postage) both cost under a fiver total. I ordered a red wig (which was nothing like the photo and looked terrible)- cue a dash to Leeds where I picked up my actual one for a tenner.

I’d already got green leggings, the green too from being an Xmas tree and green shoes and belt. I decided gloves had to be done so ordered a pair of elbow length from , yup, eBay for a fiver.

That was it. I had the Boohoo floral crown from a Spanish dress up night, and I used a Yours belt I got in the sale to weave ivy strands into to make my ivy tutu topper. I then glue gunned ivy leaves together to create an ivy bodice look and also did the same for the glove toppers. I used carpet tape to stick them all onto my clothes.

For my makeup I used the lovely Ambie Drew’s tutorial for inspiration , and did a green smoked eye, red ombré lips using 2 Becca lip pencils and a Playboy lippy (from the #sheff meet up) and paler than average make up.

Of course I could not mention some other fab Halloween outfits my favourite homemade one being Lolly’s anyone old enough to remember Gem with truly appreciate it! Check it out on her Post here. .
