Benefits of your birthday being close to Christmas? More money to spend in the sales! So when mamma bear gave me money for Xmas and birthday lets just say I went a little mad! After my adventure at Illamasqua at the Victoria Quarter event I knew I wanted bits from them and went a little crazy in the sale!
Now I’m not great at shade matching but have a yellow undertone I know that for sure! In summer I tend to be a shade darker foundation than winter so hover around shades 3/4 in most brands 1 to 10/12/14 scales. I wanted their pressed powder as I needed a new one so when I saw what I thought was my shade (and I was right!) in the 50% off sale I grabbed it! And a concealer with 60% off (which is a bit of a more stronger yellow tone but perfect for under eyes which is what I wanted it for). Then I bought the pretty stuff! The Celestial eyeshadow quad was a part of the new festive collection and is gorgeous, I used the rose gold shade as part of my NYE eye make up look which I’m sharing soon on here (but you can see on Instagram now!). I’m not convinced on the champagne shade as the texture is very rough and doesn’t pick up easily bit I’m liking the others so far. 
I also picked up a duo blush in Lover and Hussy as the top shade is what was used on me at the Leeds store. At 60% off it had to be done! I find I only need a little bit to create colour as I applied it a little too heavily when I first got it. I may/may not have looked like a clown. The bottom shade will look fab with a tan I’m thinking.
Finally I added 2 more Vintage Mettalix eye gels to my collection. After Drew-Ashlyn used the Embellish shade on my eyes at Leeds I’d been using it non stop so invested in the nude with a hint of silver metallic shimmer ‘Courtier‘ shade and the Khaki with a hint of golden metallic shimmer ‘Bibelot‘ shade to add to my collection. I couldn’t wait to use them as you can see! The pink is a perfect base shade and looks great used up to the brow bone. The khaki is perfect too and I used it in the centre as a base for the powder from the Celestial palette to go on top of which worked well. I do love a khaki eye.
I’ve still got my eyes on a sale lip liner and new foundation as I have a birthday code to use and have just reviewed some late birthday money, and with free delivery I might just have to take advantage! Let me know if you pick anything up!
