So Rimmel are killing it with the new releases right now! Again I thought it only fair to share all 9 shades of their new The Only 1 Matte Lipsticks* after I was sent them. I did my first geometric swatch too, which I was excited about, however I think I need to make the gaps smaller next time, but it was fun doing it! Let me know what you think in the comments.

Anyways back to the actual lippies, they are a Matte finish (clues in the name right?!) and are billed to last well and stay put without drying out lips. As soon as I saw shade 700 – Trendsetter I knew I had to try it out, so I popped it on and then went to eat my breakfast. Transfer wise was pretty good, it wore off on the centre but not to the extent that I had to reapply to stop myself looking a fool. I think if I’d left it a little longer it may have stayed put a little more too, as I’ve worn it since and it’s stayed on for a good few hours without needing to be reapplied.

It has a scent/taste to it that I can’t put my finger on, if you know tell me please! Some say it’s Melon others say it’s more sweets based- I think it may be that part of the formula that’s driving the moisturisation of them as I did find it less drying after wearing it a couple of days,  than some of my other Matte lipsticks. It does glide on so easily too which is great as most Matte lipsticks are a pain to apply.

Colour wise it was my perfect shade of nude, and colour payoff is good. There’s about 4 of the 9 shades that  are nude/light pink and all of them have great colour payoff. It’s when I got to swatching the darker colours I found they needed to be applied more frequently and more of them applied in the first place to get a better finish. As I’m not a dark shades fan I can’t say I’ve tested these for longevity like I have the nude shades. You can kind of see it in the swatches below (running from left to right in the order of the photos below them).
