My second Christmas party of the season! This time it was a themed party, and as it was on Friday the 13th , the theme was nightmare before Christmas.
I’d originally thought I’d go as a witch, black dress/witches hat= sorted! However I soon realised that I wanted to do more, and as always I couldn’t just hire a costume!
I wanted something with more of a Christmas feel and that’s when I found pics of the White Witch (Tilda Swinton) in Narnia. A witch with icicles as a crown! Sorted I thought!

I didn’t want to do an exact copy, and definitely didn’t want to wear a white/light ivory dress!

I went in search for a silver dress, and decided I wanted a maxi to ensure the full effect was there. After scouring many sites I found this beautiful River Island Maxi Dress from ASOS (£45)

As it’s a darker silver (more gunmetal , I’d say) I knew it would be more flattering than a lighter colour so the outfit choice was made!
I then needed to accessorise. First up was this icicle necklace. Mr E found these battery operated icicle lights at Poundland, and as soon as I saw them I knew it was my necklace!
Mr E did all the making, so I gave him an old primark necklace my glue gun and told him to ‘make it work!’ (A slight Tim Gunn moment there!)
He did -how ace does it look!

As he was making that I was painting my nails! I used OPI Alpine Snow (£11.50) as a base and layered loose iridescent glitter over the top, setting with Claire’s UV Glow Clear Polish, on the thumb and little fingers I applied different sized Silver AB crystals as I have to have some nails a little different!
I need a UV lamp as I didn’t get a pic of them glowing at the party, but they looked so icy when they glowed!
Next up was the ice crown. I didn’t wanted dreaded hair but wanted the theme of hair running through the icicles like they were growing out if my head.
I found these Icicle Decorations from Asda and knew they’d be perfect! I armed Mr E with the glue gun and an old headband and left him to it! Once he’d finished I wrapped one of my hair extensions through and around it so when it went on my head it gave the growing illusion.

I worked my real hair and a few extensions around it on the night to cover the band.
To top off the outfit I added my faux snow leopard stole from River Island (2 years old) sorted!
My makeup on the night was icy themed, I wanted large eyes with glitter. I used
Face: No7 Highlighter Powder- silver , with a touch of Moon Beam by Benefit
Eyes: Max Factor Dip in Eyeshadow in Silver Lounge

Gosh loose eyeshadow in ice blue
W7 Glitter Explosion Duo (I just used the loose glitter on this, around my eyes) in silver
Hard Candy Glitter in light blue- again around my eyes
Lips: Sinful Colours Silver lipgloss!
Here’s a close up of it all!

I wore some older Next peeptoe a that I bought when I was a bridesmaid! They were covered an silver sequins so just added more sparkle to the outfit!
I then wrapped up to get ready to party!
