Is it June Birchbox time already?! Were my thoughts when my Birchbox despatch email came through. I was hesitant on the unboxing of this one as Mays had been so good, however although not quite as good ,Birchbox has kept up its game (see what I did there!) with this multi-national offering.
This months box was World Cup inspired in the fact it chose products from across the world , however my box only contained French and USA brands (although the OPI and lifestyle extra were classed as Brazilian).
Design wise the box was back to its usual colours, but the bag had been given a green and yellow Brazilian makeover.
My favourite in the box this month was the Mini OPI nail polish from their Brazilian collection (£14 for the 4x mini set- worth approx £3.50) The shade is Where Did Suzi’s Man-Go? A lovely Orange/Mango shade, that gives great coverage after 3 coats.
My next fave was the Beauty Blender (£16) which I’ve been wanting to try for ages especially since my issues with the Primark version of this that smelt horrible! I think it’s great that it comes with a solid bar of blender cleanser (basically soap) to clean it with, which should encourage me to actually clean it once I’ve used it!
I’m looking forward to trying this out when my tan wears off and I get my foundation out again!
The other item that made the box for me is from the French brand Caudalie – their Divine Oil (£27 for 100ml, approx £4.05). Another oil I thought, however this multi use oil can be used in hair, face and body and can be used in cuticles, combined with smelling lush in happy with this reasonable sized sample!
The lifestyle extra this month was a cute flip flop Keyring which is a cute touch to the box. The 4th beauty item in the box is a mini Coola Classic Face sun cream (£26 full size, worth approx £3.64) this will be handy for travelling with on my next holiday so I can apply cream before I land , but it will only last a day or 2 once I’m there as it’s super small.
Last up is another French brand which is new to Birchbox. Yves Rocher Sheer Botanical Lipstick in Rouge Groseille. (£9.90 introductory price to birchbox)
This is not my fave as it is A. A lipstick B. Red C. The packaging looks very 1980’s.
The plus sides of it is that it is a sheer glossy red so not as bright red as I’d initially thought, and it has cherry oil in which means it smells amazing. I liked get over the packaging if this was a sheer nude shade I think.
So overall I do like the box, it has a favoured brand for me in, and something I’ve wanted to try for an age in it! It’s worth this month is approx £37.90 on products, which is great and if give been after a beauty blender then the box is worth the purchase for that alone!
Great stuff Birchbox! Keep it coming!
