Last week I was invited across to Monks Cross in York* to go to the Debenhams VIP event there. They were run up and down the country and for £5 (redeemable on the night) There was fizz, chocolates, free gift wrapping, raffles, live music and more! I hadn’t been to this branch before but I have to say I loved it! Everyone was super friendly (not just to me but I saw it to other customers too!) and really helpful! When I asked if they had a top I liked in red the lady I asked looked for it with me and then came and found me later to say she’d looked in other ranges too but there wasn’t anything that matched what I wanted! How good is that!? They gave me a gift card to spend for going so whilst I was there I decided to do a bit of gift shopping for others- and of course ended up wanting to treat myself (and did! Oooops)
Fluff and Floof
This cosy travel blanket was so so soft and is the perfect gift for me, as I always snuggle up on the sofa on Christmas Day for a nap and I have to have a snuggly blanket! So to have one so soft with travel straps too is blooming ideal. Now of course I didn’t buy the llama pillowcase but it was super cute, as was the Pusheen travel pillow! They had lots of Pusheen bits in and I am a big fan so already owned a couple of things they had.
I think these were my fave gifts of all! The pineapple jar reminded me of the seventies pineapple ice buckets (think Only Fools and Horses) and would look great on a bar cart!As would the copper cocktail set, I had to resist this but absolutely loved it. It’s was £25 for the shaker, muddler and strainer which isn’t too bad as they looked good quality too. The one thing I did pick up were the cocktail mixers, reduced to £12.50 from £25 it contains 12 different flavour 50ml mixers and I’m told they are fab in prosecco too as a way of adding flavour – a bit like adding Chambord or Lemoncello but with our adding extra alcohol (dangerous thing to do on Christmas Day I feel!)
I loved all the Bridges jam sets especially this one with all the mini’s in it! I nearly got it for Luke as he loves a mini jam, but then figured I was probably being selfish as I’d want to eat them all! I also loved his massive bag of chocolate coins they were all different colours and sizes and as you can see the bag was huge! The price reflected it though as they were about £7 I’d expect they were nice chocolate but I couldn’t justify set gifting myself them!
I managed to resist the embellished jumper as I have one so similar, and would have bought the khaki jacket if they had my size in stock- it was beautiful! My size is winging its way from the internet to me as I type. I also had to take a photo of this amazing body suit, from Reger by Janet Reger, the brand is becoming my fave go to for pretty underwear, and I hope they start doing larger sizes ASAP, as the largest I can find is 38dd so not great for the larger busted ladies out there!
Because Everyone Likes Candles
They even had a pop up stall from The York Candle Company on the night, the team behind the brand were lovely as were the scents! I picked up a four pack of gun scented ones which are lush but I also loved the Christmas hearth one!
I actually think I could have done all my Christmas shopping that night for sure and I know if I’ve forgotten anyone I’ll be popping back to pick as I’ll find something so quickly! Have you bought any gifts from Debenhams this year?
*Thanks to the team for having me and for my gift card to spend in store! As always words, thoughts and photos are my own!
